2021 Quakertown Women's Conference

1811 Old Bethlehem Pike Quakertown

Saturday, May 15 2021 from 01:00 am to 10:00 pm

Conference Description
Contentment is a command for Christian believers. The author of Hebrews declares, “Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’” It is also something that Christians like the apostle Paul experienced, and in circumstances where contentment would not be expected. “For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities,” Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:10. “For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Why, then, is contentment so elusive for so many Christians? And what is Christ-centered contentment, anyway? What does it look like in the day-to-day life of a Christian? “To talk of contentment in the day of health and prosperity is easy enough,” J.C. Ryle wrote in 1885, “but to be content in the midst of poverty, sickness, trouble, disappointments and losses – is a state of mind to which very few can attain!”

But contentment is attainable for Christian believers, though it is a quality that must be cultivated, as Paul did. “I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content,” he noted. Paul learned contentment. It did not come naturally to him but was something that he acquired over the course of his life as a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Quakertown, which has hosted the Quakertown Conference on Reformed Theology since its inception in 2008 and held its first women’s conference in 2018, is offering a two-day conference for women, entitled, “Contentment in Christ.” With plenary speakers Megan Hill and Kathleen Nielson, those who attend will be encouraged by subjects like “Contentment in Adverse Circumstances,” “Contentment and Riches,” and “Cultivating Contentment.”

The conference is scheduled for May 14-15, 2021 in Quakertown, PA, less than an hour north of Philadelphia and 30 minutes south of Allentown. Women of all ages are invited to a time of teaching, worship, and edification.

Please consider joining us. We know you will be blessed as, together, we sit under the teaching of God’s inerrant, authoritative and life-giving Word.
